Mother's Union Knitters Group

  • The knitters group, which was started by members of the Mothers' Union normally meets in St John's, Staplegrove on a Thursday every other month between 2.30-4 pm
  • Our knitters produce a multitude of items, thank you to all those who have knitted
  • 8 knitted toys have gone to the Women’s Refuge where one will be put on each bed as a child arrives.   What a comfort they will become!
  • 12 jumpers and cardigans have gone to RAFT for Syria and the camps in Europe. We have chosen various sizes and warm ones as they must have to endure many cold days and nights
  • 20 jumpers, cardigans and beanie hats have gone to CRY (Care and Relief for the Young) in countries such as the Philippines, Mozambique, South Sudan and Bulgaria
  • A few hand selected jumpers have gone to families who attend the Food Bank
  • Why not come along to the next meeting, but if you cannot join the group and would prefer to knit at home the group have plenty of wool, patterns and needles for you to use

Dates for your diary :

  • Friday 16 November from 3 pm at St. John's Church - tea party to celebrate the group's achievements this year (please leave your needles and wool behind but bring any finished garments with you)
